What is mean by Google classroom?

Google classroom is a free blended learning software for educational institution that used to creating, sharing, and grading lesson easier. The major goal of Google is to make file sharing between teachers and students more efficient. It is a Learning Management System (LMS) offered by Google for teachers. 

Advantages of using Google classroom in Teaching and Learning

For Teacher

• Helps them to create and collect the assignments paperless.
• Teacher can provide a real time audio🔊 instructions for lesson using mote.
• Provide a central location to communicate with students, ask questions❓, and make assignments🧻.

For Student

• They can keep track of their learning tasks and assignments.
•  In an increasingly digital world, google classroom helps facilitate online learning for digital learners today.

Steps for creating Google classroom

Following are the steps that I have followed in the process of creating Goggle classroom;

1. I Opened a Web browser and searched classroom.google.com. 

2. Then I have signed in with my Google account for Education account.

3. On the Welcome screen, I clicked the plus sign at the top and choose Create Class.

4. Then in the Create Class dialogue box, I typed the Class Name and Section.

5. After that I clicked Create.

How to invite students or joining classroom in Google classroom

There are two ways students join in the google classroom;

1. Using the classroom code to join 

• Go to Google classroom
• click on the plus sign in the right hand corner.
• click join class
• Then type in the classroom code and click join.

2. Inviting using email address

I invited my students and co-teachers to the Goggle classroom by using their email address. The steps as shown below;

• I clicked the class I want to invite my students to.
• At the top, I click people.
• Then I typed the email address of a student and clicked on invite button.

steps for how to Add a co- Teacher

1. Click "people option",

2. Click on "Invite teacher",

3. Type in the email address of the co-teacher,

4. Then click on invite option.

5. For them to join in Goggle classroom, they need to open their mail and click "Accept" option.

Parts of a Google Classroom

At the top of the page, there are four major headers;

- Stream

The stream is a feed where everyone in the class can find announcements and upcoming assignments, and it's the first thing students see when they log in.

- Classwork

The classwork tab is where teachers can post assignments, and students can complete an turn them in.

- People and

The people tab displays the teacher and a list of students who enrolled in the class. The students have profile photo, full name and email address displayed.

- Grades

The grade tap display the students get their grades when they return their assignments.
